jjlaroo2 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Last minute travel for anniversary to Savannah. I really want to win a room at AVIA, but am unsure where to start. I am affraid to start low and get the Hyatt or go high and get the Hyatt for too much. Was thinking of bidding $99...anyone have luck? or get AVIA doing something in particular? travel date 9/30/10 - 10/2/10. Thanks
AaronJB Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Happy early anniversary! There is no way to try to ensure a particular property when bidding - if you bid for a 4*, you can possibly get any of the 4*'s in the zone. If you try to bid more, you will likely get the hotel you would have gotten had you bid less. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
jjlaroo2 Posted September 18, 2010 Author Report Posted September 18, 2010 Budget is less than $125 per night
thereuare Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Given you can't target, nor avoid, a specific hotel in the zone... how would you like to proceed for this stay? Not sure if you're able to stretch your budget a but, but HOTWIRE has a 3.5* Boutique property for $146/nite and while it has not yet been reported to the board, it does have a very good 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating and recommended by 95% of HOTWIRE customers. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. jjlaroo2 Posted September 20, 2010 Author Report Posted September 20, 2010 The best I can tell, I believe the HOTWIRE property is the Planter's Inn...which looks very nice. I'll let you know what happens with PRICELINE, may just go with Hotwire. Thank you for your help!

jjlaroo2 Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 I tried for several days on Priceline for historic district 4* from $85-$150, added different areas and tried at different times bid was never accepted or counteroffered. So I decided to include 3.5* and bid from $60-$90 in Historic district and bids were never accepted or counteroffered. Switched over to Hotwire and got 3.5* Planter's Inn for $149 per night. Rate quoted on others sites as $179 per night, so I'm ok with decision. I'll add this to Hotwire thread. I'll try Priceline again, just no luck this time.
