thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! What is more important... price or zone? (ie- would you prefer to pay more for a hotel in the Loop vs. less for a hotel in the River North zone) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
gradstudentclimber
Thanks, glad to be here. Your site is quite helpful.Based on the Priceline map there doesn't appear to be _that_ much difference in location between The Loop and River North. But appearances are probably deceiving.I suppose location is more important. I wouldn't want to find a cheap hotel and then eat up the savings in transportation costs to Palmer House.I really don't want to pay more than $75 a night, though. Any strategy that would get me there would be much appreciated. Link to comment
thereuare
We'll start with the Loop since that is the zone where the Palmer House is located. At the 3* level you have 2 re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING and ask any questions you have and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board.Select 3* and the Loop...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $45, if rejected reaccess priceline however you did previously...Select 3* Loop and re-bid zone2...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected reaccess priceline however you did previously.Select 3* and the River North...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $45, if rejected reaccess priceline however you did previously...Select 3* River North and re-bid zone2...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected reaccess priceline however you did previously.Select 3* and Loop and River North...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65, if rejected reaccess priceline however you did previously...Select 3* and Loop and River North and re-bid zone2...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $75.If the above fails report back and we'll suggest a 2.5* strategy.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. gradstudentclimber
Thank you, thank you. The final $75 bid was accepted after following your procedure exactly.I got the 3* Club Quarters (a good brand, stayed with them before) in The Loop, just 3 1/2 blocks from my conference hotel. The conference room rate at the Palmer House was $169. So I saved $282. Link to comment
gradstudentclimber
One more thing: After the $70 bid and before the $75 bid, I got a screen I'd never seen before that said I could re-bid immediately without changing anything except adding $22 to my bid. Hope that bit helps someone somehow. Link to comment
