Mellowyellow888 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 HelloI'm trying to bid for at 3.5* in Boston during 10/1/2010-10/4/2010 and also 10/6/2010-10/7/2010.I've gone up to $120 still no dice. I'm seeing quite a few wins for rooms under $120 in Copley Square. This is an observation. But is it true the closer I book a hotel to the actual date the more likely a lower price that it will be? I saw that there are several smaller sized conventions in town during that time, so some availability?I'm looking for anything in Cambridge, Quincy mkt, & Copley at the moment. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I saw that there are several smaller sized conventions in town during that time, so some availability?I'm looking for anything in Cambridge, Quincy mkt, & Copley at the moment. Any suggestions or thoughts?I have been watching prices for weeks in anticipation of a trip 10/14-10/19 and have found that prices vary through out the day. For example, just today when I read your post, I looked for my own dates and a 3.5* in Copley was $370ish. I looked again just now and it's down to $266 for the average price. When I go to put in my (winning) bid in a few days, I'll watch for the low end of the range and then bid just under half that price ($266 would have me start at $120) and go up from there. So my advice is to watch for a few days checking your date range, find the low end, bid half and go from there. Good luck.
thereuare Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please use separate threads for each leg of your stay... we'll use this one for your first leg of 10/1-10/4, please start a NEW TOPIC for the other part of your trip. This weekend the Red Sox host the NY Yankees which is a long time rivalry which draws many road trippers from NYC (and other surrounding areas) to the games. I would expect some hotels to sell-out for these dates and if you are lucky enough to find a rate drop i'd guess it won't be by much.
