I am looking to book a hotel for 4 guests for the night of September 25th in Philadelphia, center city area on HOTWIRE. I know it's not really the best idea to really hope and search for one property but in this case it would make everything the easiest for everyone.

I am looking to book at the Embassy Suites in Center City West but I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking at. When I search for 1 room, 4 guests on 9/25/10, one of the properties that comes up is a 3* Center City West/ University City area hotel for $125 showing just 3 amenities: fitness, restaurant, and high speed internet. I saw recently that someone booked the Embassy Suites with all of those things but I kind of want to be as certain as possible. What really got me confused was when I changed the occupancy to just 2 guests, it appeared to be the same property at first, but there were many more amenities including a pool and smoke-free which would match better with the Hotel Windsor. That kind of worries me that the listing with just fitness, restaurant, and high speed internet could be trying to hide the fact that it is the Windsor. What do you think??

Also, if I need two double beds, I'm assuming it's best to put 4 guests in the occupancy?? Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give me!!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

There is no way to guarantee a particular property, and while searching for 4 is a way to more likely get two beds, you could get 1 + sofabed or other combination. Searching for 4 guarantees some form of bedding for your entire party; that would most likely be 2 beds, but may be some other combination.

One often sees different results when searching for 2 vs. 4. I'm seeing the same listing w/smoke-free when I search for 2 adults or 4, though - are you searching for a different combination?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Hey, thanks for the quick replies. When I got a different result I actually meant to say that I had changed the search from 1 room to 2. When I searched for 1 room it came up as a 3* in the City Center West area with just the 3 amenities which I could assume was the Embassy but when I looked for 2 rooms the other result came up with 3* in City Center West with the additional amenities that I assumed to be the Windsor.

Actually now I can report a win about what I was talking about. Unfortunately, my friend went about booking the hotel on his own through Hotwire and failed to use the links on this site. I apologize and I'll be sure to use them next time I book!

We were looking at booking two rooms but since the results when searching just 1 room showed up to be what we would assume was the Embassy Suites, our preferred hotel choice, my friend went with that one. The listing was a 3* City Center West/ University City area hotel, 09/25/10-09/26/10, 1 room with 2 guests, with the 3 amenities: Fitness, Restaurant, High Speed Internet. It was booked for $73 plus taxes and fees to a total of $89.15! Great Deal.

After that was booked, he went ahead back to Hotwire to see if it was possible to book another room with the knowledge now that that listing was indeed the Embassy Suites that we preferred. Apparently Hotwire pulled a quick one on him and showed practically the same listing: 3* City Center West/ University City area hotel, 09/25/10-09/26/10, 1 room with 2 guests, with the 3 amenities: Fitness, Restaurant, High Speed Internet for $73 (total to $89.15). He went ahead with the booking and to his surprise, the room was booked as the Sheraton City Center!! Same exact listing but it turned out to be a different hotel!

I hadn't seen anywhere with the Sheraton listing with just those 3 amenities, it usually had a pool, business center, or even smoke free so I didn't warn my friend that there was really any chance of that happening haha. Well I guess that's what ya get when you go through Hotwire and Priceline sometimes! Just keep in mind now that both the Embassy Suites, Sheraton City Center, and probably the Windsor Suites too could probably all be listed with just those 3 amenities!

Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this new amenity combination for this property to the Priceline Hotel List.

Sorry to hear you didn't received the same hotel on both purchases. Since different hotels were won please use separate threads for each purchase... we've used this thread for the Sheraton City Center win, please start a NEW TOPIC for the Embassy Suites win.
