Hotwire Hotel: 4* Amsterdam (East) Moevenpick

Used the link to HOTWIRE to search and book, and got this hotel for $94 per night, for three nights starting Oct. 16/10. Amenities listed were as in the hotel list (fitness centre, laundry, restaurant, Wifi, business centre, golf nearby and tennis nearby); am mainly posting here so others can know detail of price (which we are very pleased with - booking directly with the hotel was €520, or approx. $US660, vs. the $US308 total through HOTWIRE).

I was getting a bit nervous of finding decently priced accommodation - seems our visit coincides with the Amsterdam Marathon, which apparently has 20,000+ competitors coming to the city. We would have preferred to be a bit more in the centre of town, and to stay somewhere less modern and with more "character", but it appears this hotel is not too far away from everything. I made many enquiries with budget hotels and B&Bs, looking for under C$150 per night; of all the places I enquired, the only two I found with vacancies were more expensive; one did not have ensuite bathroom facilities, and the other is not very well rated rated on TripAdvisor (unlike the Moevenpick, which has excellent reviews).
