bbwell Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 A little embarrassed after seeing the $95 bid below, but I'll take this hotel for $113. It was my first time using re-bid strategies and I'm staying through Thursday-Sunday, so I guess it could be worse.I knew I wanted to stay in central London, stay in a 4* or better, and spend less than $125 (plus tax) per night. So I used the PRICELINE links on the site and used Wembley (which doesn't have a 4* hotel) as my re-bid zone.I tried:Bloomsbury/Marble Arch $95Bloomsbury/Marble Arch and Wembley $100Mayfair/Soho $100Mayfair/Soho and Wembley $105Kensington $105This told me that if I was willing to up my bid by $30, I'd have a room, so I decided to make a slight bump up to $113 and that got me the Marriott. From what I can tell, the cheapest advance payment room on their site runs about $190 per night, so I'm saving about $231. Not bad!EDIT: The dates are 10/28-10/31. I can't edit the subject for some reason.
DallasGooner Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 What dates? $95 for one date may not be possible another date. Still a $190/night hotel for $113 is nothing to feel bad about!
bbwell Posted September 20, 2010 Author Report Posted September 20, 2010 I forgot to put the date in the subject! I'm a n00b. It's October 28-October 31.
