howdog14 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Staying in NYC on 9/22 for 1 night. Have a reservation for $180/nt (+ tax) at Yale Club. Looking to see if I can do better ($170 total) elsewhere via priceline. Would like to be as close to Grand Central as possible - ideally midtown east, midtown west, or time square areas would work best. I have until 6pm on 9/21 to cancel the current reservation, so I have today and tomorrow to bid. Any advice? Thanks.
thereuare Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Your maximum bid is ~$142/nite which i don't think is likely going to be enough for a 4* hotel for this stay.If you'd like to give it a go, at the 4* level in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE, MTW, TS (and ESB if you think that might work well for your plans)...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $142Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
