BestValue
Rated 2* and many poor reviews on Trip Advisor, populiarity index 73 out of 103. (review). I called the hotel and was told all rooms have been renovated during the past year. Maybe the hotel has improved, as Priceline increased the the rating from 2.5 to 3 Stars recently.Park Shore Waikiki Hotel Check-In Date: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 Check-Out Date: Sunday, July 17, 2005 Waikiki South2586 Kalakaua Avenue Honolulu, Hawaii 96815 808-923-0411Room 1 Confirmation Room 2 Confirmation Your Offer Price: $58.00 (First bid accepted)Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $464.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $69.20 Total Charges: $533.20 Link to comment
LoneStar
Aw, I just wrote a lengthy bit about your bid and the server ate it.Kind of like the bad luck you got getting this hotel. Re-rated! Boo!!What's worse is it's not even listed in the packages section. A stealth hotel. Don't recall seeing that before. On packages, it looks like you'd get the Prince Kuhio.FWIW, don't let it get you down. I'm sure it will be fine. It's always disappointing when priceline throws you a curveball (and this one is a doozy), but I suppose it's the risk of using the service. For others, it's now unfortunately buyer beware in the South Waikiki zone. Without the hotel even coming up on packages, I'm not sure how you can avoid it, other than avoiding the zone or bidding for the much more expensive 4-star properties. Link to comment

thereuare
Thank you for letting us know about the star rating upgrade of this property. I don't know too much about this property but I read thru some of the recent reviews above and i'd say the reviews were more 'mixed' than outright 'bad', although probably not what you were seeking with your 3 star bid.Since your stay is nearly 4 months away i would keep an eye on your confirmation email to see if it is potentially downgraded between now and then, which should enable you to get out of this bid if you wanted to do so. Maybe the recent renovations have improved the place. Was this your first bid in the zone? It's Hawaii... for $58/nite how bad could it be? :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
BestValue
Your Offer Price: $58.00 (First bid accepted)I called the hotel again, for another $50/nite per room they will upgrade to a deluxe ocean view, if availible at check in. (These rooms get better Travel Advisor comments) Also, responding to my request for two bed rooms , these are often sold out, other rooms only have a queen or king. I don`t think this hotel compares to the other Waikiki South 3* hotels recently won on Priceline. Link to comment
smuniak
Ouch - I just got bit by this one also - the Park Shore Waikiki Hotel for two nights it is @ $68 ...The Marriott is now sold out - so I figured I would try for the Radision.Oh well... It is a crash pad for two nights. Spending day one shopping and at Dukes, Day two at PCC, and day three heading over the to JW Marriott and the kids and G'parents are flying home.Intersted in seeing if they truley have been renovated.Steve Link to comment
