Priceline Hotel: need help on bidding 11/13 - 11/17

I am trying to bid a hotel 11/13 - 11/17 (SAT to WED) around zone 2(greater chicago), 3-star and up, I cannot get it up to $85. I also tryied to add zone 7(MP, loop), and zone 8(NMA), and zone 4(Licoln park). Just cannot get it. I cannot go beyond $85 because of budget issue. There is a Saturday stay, but I even tried to seperate Saturday from Sunday to Wednesday, still no luck. I also know that there is a conference at that time, but I just do not understand why I cannot get any 3-star hotel at this price. Any help will be appreciated.

Rates are somewhat high for these dates at this time of year, i'm assuming due to the conference... do you know what conference it is?

Are all three zones you mention above (Greater Chicago, NMA, Loop) all acceptable? What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?

I think it's The American Heart Association conference. I am OK with any zone (Greater Chicago, NMA, Loop). My boss only can pay me $100/night so the max I can bid is $85. I tried 3 star and above, it does not work. I probably will have to try 2 star if I cannot get it in next week. From hotwire, the cheapest one is 119, then another at 149, all others are above 169. Thanks!

If you've already bid up to your limit then there is not much more you can do except wait it out and try again, lower your star rating or raise your budget.

Are you in town for the American Heart Association Convention or on other business? Where do you need to be location-wise as greater chicago is not really a zone that we see bid that often.

I am coming for the American Heart Association Convention so I would like to stay close to greater chicago zone. In this case, do you think I can wait and see for good deals because there are still almost 2 months?

Keep in mind that the Greater Chicago zone covers a wide space and you could end up either on the West side or South side. You can wait until closer to the date, but there is no way to know if rates will go down - if something is going on on these dates, they could go up. I would recommend being persistent and trying once a week to get something in your range.
