Thanks for all the great advice! I got myself all prepared and have been bidding on a 4 * for Oct 7-10 in the Loop-Grant Park area. However, after 3 nights of bidding and adding zones as advised, my highest bid of $170 has not been accepted. I see that another user, natsfan62, just got a rate of $115 for Oct 6-9. So I am wondering if it has to do with our Saturday night stay? I know it's the marathon weekend, so I also wonder if we should be splitting up the bids? But I'd really prefer not to change hotels mid-trip....

Any advice would be most welcome, and if I should just forge ahead from $170, then I guess I will! Still seems much lower than the rates on the hotel websites.

Is the Loop area the only zone which is acceptable or is North Michigan Avenue zone acceptable as well?

Rates do look better if you drop the nite of 10/9, but of course you'll still need to purchase this nite separately and it will likely be expensive... and if you're not willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID (and possibly change hotels mid-stay) then it's not really a viable option.

Thanks! I split the bid and got Oct 7 and 8 for 125$ at the Hyatt Regency. Still working on the Sat night though, up to 215$ and no luck!
