Priceline Hotel: Unable to get a 3.5 star+ for $155

I'm trying to get a 3.5 star plus in Union Square/ SOMA/ financial for Oct 4 to 9th and unable to get one on priceline for $155.

Is there something big going on at that time?

Check SF Convention and Tourism website. They list all the big conventions. Not sure exactly what the URL is, though.

There are several conferences with the larger ones being the American Academy of Pediatrics (12,000 attendees requiring 4400 rooms) from October 2-5 and CTIA Enterprise & Applications (16,000 attendees requiring 3500 rooms) October 6-8.

It might be a good idea to reserve a cancelable back-up. Then you can keep bidding until the last minute. Hotels with conferences hold blocks for attendees, and can release them at the last minute. You could get lucky.
