Hotwire Hotel: 4* NYC (MTC) Park Central

Hi,

Can you help me to indentify this hotels? I need 1 room for 2 people, we will be in nyc for 8 nights (Mar/05 - Mar/13). See the options that I've found:

MTC 4* - $163 - fitness, restaurant, business center, internet - (3,5 on trip advisor) - "We are still gathering reviews for this property."

TS 4* - $209 - suite, restaurant, business center, internet - (4,5 on trip advisor) - "Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews "

CPA 4* - $174 - boutique hotel, smoke free, fitness, business center, internet - (4,0 on trip advisor) - "Recommended in 75 % of Hotwire customer reviews"

Best guess for each is as follows:

4* MTC - matches the Flatotel, Sofitel, Helmsley Park Lane, Royalton, Warwick and Sheraton New York... so any of these are possibilities. You can check the Tripadvisor rating of each to see which is curently 3.5/5.0 rated, but this would only give you an edge in identifying the property and not definitive (even if you find a match) since the TA info provided by HOTWIRE is only updated about once per month, so the current TA rating could be different then what HOTWIRE is currently showing.

4* TS - does this also show a Fitness icon? If so, best guess is the Doubletree Times Square

4* CPA - matches previous reports for On the Avenue so that would be my best guess for this one

Sorry to hear you're disappointed in the results.

HOTWIRE is currently offering a 4* and 3.5* hotel with the same amenities for about the same price... if you check the MY ACCOUNT link at the top right corner of HOTWIRE's home page can you confirm that you bought the 4* one and that is the current rating showing on your confirmation page?

I doubt that HOTWIRE will be able to offer you the breakfast special, and the best rate i'm seeing at their website is $215/nite (average)... under what promotion are you seeing the better rate and what is the rate?

This does show as a 4* thru the MY ACCOUNT link at the top right corner of HOTWIRE's home page?

I would point out to HOTWIRE that the average of the three major booking agencies for this property is 3.5* (4* by Orbitz, 3.5* by Expedia, and 3* by Travelocity).

Fortunately your stay is not in the immediate future, which leaves plenty of time for you to work this out with them OR see of HOTWIRE lowers the star rating of this property between now and then (and to see if this is the case you can check the MY ACCOUNT link as described above and i'd also keep tabs on Orbitz... if they lower this property from 4* to 3.5* i think you'll see HOTWIRE follow suit)
