chucolate Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 I'm trying to get the Hilton 4 star in San Diego (Coastal) but I see recent bids are at 70 which will get us the Hyatt Regency at Mission Bay. I see that a bid at 81 got someone the Hilton earlier. I wonder if I start my bid at 80 if I would get a higher chance of getting the Hilton. I do want to over bid and for this amount get the Hyatt. How does Priceline work? How can I increase my chance of getting the Hyatt?
thereuare Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 You can't really target a specific hotel with PRICELINE and as per this thread, it's recommended that you Don't Bid Higher for a Specific Hotel. If you're trying to target, or avoid, a specific property HOTWIRE is often a better option... have you tried a HOTWIRE search to see what was offered and if it can be identified as the hotel you're trying to target? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! chucolate Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 Started bid at $69 and bidded all the way up to $100 and did not get such a good deal that the other folks got for a 4 star. I'm trying to get the Hyatt (Coastal). I gave up!
AaronJB Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Sorry to hear that your bids weren't accepted. :)What are the date/s of travel? Was there anything on HOTWIRE of interest?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
