apbuster Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 I have been trying for several days to get a hotel in the Millenium Park area. Hoped to hit the Hyatt others posted; looked like a great deal. Tonight finally got the Sheraton Chicago Hotel Tower for $140 a night, for 10/1-10/3 through PRICELINE.First Bid Millenium Park $110Second Added Midway (no 4 stars there) $120Third Bid added Skokie (still no 4 stars to worry about) $1314th Bid added North Michigan Avenue $140This works well as we are taking the kids to the Aquarium, Navy Pier etc.I'm not sure if those $80 deals are gone at the Hyatt, but I sure couldn't hit one, and believe me I tried! The Sheraton looks very nice. The AAA rate for this same time is $236.75 Now if I can just find parking at a decent price :)
thereuare Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success!Rates are date specific, and with hotel direct rates at $200+ for these nites, the $80 winning bids were probably not available for this stay.Glad to see you're happy with the results and the deal you received... thank you for sharing it with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. AaronJB Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 There are a few open lots in the blocks around the Sheraton that may be a better rate (not sure what they are) than the Sheraton. A better idea may be Navy Pier parking, which I believe is $24 - and NP is only a few minutes walk East.
