Priceline Hotel: 3* Los Angeles (Beverly Hills-West Hollywood)

I am a newbie to Priceline and I have a somewhat generic question, I have read "I've never used Priceline or Hotwire" and also "Bidding Again before 24 hours".

Reading past topics I found bidders getting the hotel I am interested in, Residence Inn Beverly Hills, recently for around $100, the Courtyard Century City is in the same zone and both are 3*, but the Courtyard is going for around $55 in recent successful bids. My question is, if I someone is bidding for that zone for 3* and goes to around $100 how come they don't get the Courtyard which is much cheaper? I am clearly missing something, but then again, I am a total Priceline newbie. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Rates are date specific... so there may be times when one hotel is offered for less then the other, and vice-versa... as well as times when one (or both) hotel doesn't offer any availability to the opaque suppliers. It would be too simplistic to think that the Courtyard is always available for $55 and the Residence Inn always available for $100.

If you need help with an upcoming stay please let us know the particulars (desired star rating, zone, maximum bid, dates, etc) and we'll try to help.
