Priceline Hotel: Help-Hotel Near Catholic University Sept 17-23

My brother just had a baby and we are last minute looking for a hotel near their apartment, which is close to Catholic University. We've stayed in Dupont Circle before when visiting. We were hoping for something around $150 or less, but the rates during the week in most areas of D.C. appear to be $200-$300 or more.

Thanks. I am pretty excited to be an aunt. We would be willing to stay in other safe areas as well. My brother lives about 1.5 mi from Catholic University, which by car takes about 5 min. I would like to keep our drive under 15 minutes if possible. Dupont Circle is about 10 minutes away by car to his apartment. We were able to find the Residence Inn in Dupont Circle for the 17th and 18th for $149 by calling directly, not sure if there is a better rate at that hotel for those dates, but the hotel said they had no more availability on Sunday the 19th. So we are thinking of staying the 1st 2 nights at the Residence Inn and then and going through PRICELINE / HOTWIRE (of course, through your link) to find a place for Sept 19-22nd. Thanks!

Not sure that is a sound plan...

The Residence Inn being sold-out starting that Sunday shows that the first two nites are not your problem, and if you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID (it appears you'll have to) i think you can do better than $149/nite for the first two nites (and possibly first 3 nites) of your stay.

Searching 9/17-9/20 there is:

4* White House-Captilol Hill for $99

4.5* Dupont Circle for $126

4* Dupont Circel for $132

3.5* Dupont Circle for $99

3.5* White House for $106

Starting the nite of 9/21 that is where the trouble begins as there isn't much available under $200 unless you're willing to stay outside of the 'DC city limits'.
