YvrMan Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 As mentioned in my priceline win post, I got the Marriott Marquis for the Weekend of Oct 1-3 (2 nights) at $200 per night.I was hoping to check in earlier - Wednesday Sept 29, so I tried the "extend your stay at same price option" It was not accepted. But I got a message back of a "great deal" to stay at the Marriott for $440 per night.Any suggestions on getting the Marriott Marquis for the 2 nights (Sept 29-30) at a price close to $200? I used the PRICELINE link to place the initial bid.
thereuare Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Hotel direct rates for this property are in excess of $450/nite for the nites above... assuming rates remain this high, i dont' think you're likely going to see anyplace offering this property near $200/nite.If you want to arrive earlier then your current check-in date i think your best best would be to try PRICELINE to win a different hotel in the city and change hotels on 10/1.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll try to be of further help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. YvrMan Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 Thanks for offer to help.Question.... Is there a strategy that could be used to get the Marriott Marquis for Sept 29 to Oct 1 (2 nights) for up to $275?
AaronJB Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 There is no way to guarantee (or improve the odds of getting) a particular property when using PRICELINE for bidding.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
