bmanhas Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 The wife (still sounds weird saying that) and I want to do a pre-honeymoon trip to Vegas. We got our flights from Allegiant and are wanting to stay at nice place. We realize this is US Thanksgiving weekend and it might not be as pumping as usual in Vegas but we are ok with that. With that said, we would like to spend $100-$110 per night on a really nice hotel. Preferrably a 5 star if possible but if not a 4 star will do. Any advice on how to nail that down?

bmanhas Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 The wedding already happened :-) We are just delaying the honeymoon until January and decided to do a weekend Vegas thing until then.I will be using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links provided from the site in order to make my purchase but want to try to get the best rate possible based on the above itinerary. I do want to avoid Trump International and from what I understand it's in it's own section now anyway (North Vicinity).
thereuare Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North (and Strip South if both acceptable)... making sure not to select Strip North Vicinity...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. bmanhas Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 I got up to $101 yesterday before posting here with no luck. I'm curious, do you think it's too early to be bidding on a hotel for Nov 25? Do you think maybe the inventory just isn't in there yet.
thereuare Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Thanksgiving is not as quiet in Vegas as you may think... it's a long weekend and a lot of people from California make the car ride in for the weekend.Did you bid both the North and South Strip? $110 for a 5* hotel including weekend dates doesn't seem high/excessive to me.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 There's a 5* hotel in the Las Vegas North Strip area on HOTWIRE for $119; if you aren't accepted at $115, that's only a few $ more. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
