roseeliza Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Is it possible to bid on a 1 or 2 bedroom condo within one of the resorts that Hotwire and Priceline deal with? I can only see the option of bidding on a "room" and I need to know it won't be a studio or a plain old hotel room. We need a kitchen. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
AaronJB Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, there is no way to bid on a condo via PRICELINE, nor is there a way to ensure a particular amenity when bidding (such as a kitchen or pool.) On HOTWIRE, you can look for condo listings with kitchen and 1BR or 2BR icons. What are your date/s of travel, and what area/s are you interested in? Additionally, what would be your desired budget per night? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
roseeliza Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Travel dates are 10/15/2010-10/2402010. We're looking for a place on Kaanaoali Beach south of Black Rock so our teens can have some freedom. Our price range is under $250 and much preferably well under that! The girls would love a nice pool area. Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Unfortunately the only HOTWIRE condo properties offered at the moment for your dates show a Studio icon or don't indicate 1BR/2BR. Searching for quad occupancy will ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone included in your search... but won't ensure a wall/door separating the different sleeping areas. I assume you want something with a separate room/door dividing the two areas? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. roseeliza Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 Yes, we want a separate room for sleeping as both as only one of the kids is ours. I know that many of the Kaanapali hotels are "condo hotels" but as I said one can only bid on a "room". Maybe there are some that are ALL one or two bedroom? Do you know? Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Maybe there are some that are ALL one or two bedroom?Even if there are, you would have no way to target this particular property with PRICELINE.Your best option is to do a search on HOTWIRE (using the correct number of adults/children that you will be) and see if any Condo properties appear within your desired star rating, zone and budget. From there you can try to ID the property(s) offered and determine what the 'standard' room type is at that location. Still some risk involved, since you'l. have to have guessed correctly as well as many of these condo-type properties don't have one 'standard' room, but at least it's a calculated risk and not just 'throwing darts'.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you find.
