erik719 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi....LOVE the site, just found it, and have been doing the Hotwire research on my own for SO long!Use HW about 24x /year, so I will now go into thru your link! :)Please help id: 4* Chelsea Madison Sq. Garden -- boutique, n/smoking, fitness, restaurant, biz, internetno 4* hotels on your NYC hotel list in Chelsea!$232/night, 9/27-29 no reviewsAlso, it's been years since I've been in NYC, is there a better choice closer to Upper East Side?I have a biz mtg early on UES, so I want to be nearby.Do you recommend Renaissance 57 or no?THANKS!
AaronJB Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding and thank you for the compliments on the site! :)This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. The Ink48 would be a possible guess, but it could be something else, as well. This is a good rate for a 4* for these dates, but it is not the most optimal location to be near UES. What would be your desired max budget per night for these dates?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Where on the UES is your meeting? Do you intend to take travel there by taxi, subway, bus, some other means? Thanks in advance for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. erik719 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Thanks...either taxi or subway.1420 3rd Ave. UES meetingIs Renaissance 57 great/decent/just ok?
thereuare Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Since your original post the Chelsea property above has since been reported... it's a match for the Wyndham Fashion 26 which was recently upgraded to the 4* level so that would be my best guess for that one.The Wyndham Fashion 26 hotel gets very good reviews, but would not be the most convenient to get to your meeting (either taxi or if using mass transit requires a tranfer... either bus/subway or subway/subway, not difficult but take a little extra time)The Renaissance 57 also gets pretty good reviews (overall not as good as the Wyndham... although guests may have higher expectations of the Renaissance name) but there also some reports of small rooms (typical for NYC) and 'not same treatment' for guests who booked thru 3rd party websites.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. erik719 Posted October 11, 2014 Author Report Posted October 11, 2014 Post follow up: went ahead and booked the Ren57 for under $300/night. Thanks for your help.
