mongo2001 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hello,Coming to NYC area for an engagement party. Looking for two rooms, one for my parents and one for my wife and my twins (2-years old). My future brother-in-law suggested the Whitestone/Bayside/LGA area, but want to keep my options open since we will be going to Manhattan at some point anyway. Parking could be a factor.Need advice. My range of what I would 'like' to pay is $120-$150. Definately needs to be 3.5 and better....we are quite picky. Thanks

mongo2001 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Party will be in Queens so I believe the LGA, Whitestone and Bayside may be my best bets. I can always take the train into Manhattan proper.
thereuare Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 OK, few things to cover...First, of the three zones, only LGA has 3.5* properties... Bayside only goes up to 2* and Flushing-Whitestone up to 3*. So do you only want to bid on the Airport LGA zone?Second, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... in one room you'll be quad occupancy (including the twins). With such young children i would typically take the risk (not sure if they sleep in a pak n play, crib or bed) as long as you are prepared to handle a situation if you only receive a room with one bed.The other option is HOTWIRE where you can search for up to quad occupancy per room, but HOTWIRE usually costs a little more then PRICELINE.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
