Hi! It's the first time I'm trying to book a hotel in NYC using priceline and hotwire.

And being a very inexperienced user I would like to recieve an advice how to achive the best deal for:

2 adults & 1 child (1 room with double bed an extra bed)

A 3-star hotel

We would like to spend not more than 130-140$ per night (including all taxes).

What type of star rating are you seeking as i don't think your budget is likely realistic for these dates or time of year in NYC. What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable NYC hotel thru conventional booking channels?

We managed to find a hotel in manhattan for something like 160$.

Actually we don't need any kind of luxurious hotel, we just seek for a clean, comfortable hotel somewhere in the city centre.
