landlocked76 Posted September 12, 2010 Author Report Posted September 12, 2010 Ok I did it, and it looks like the same price as last nite. Thanks for letting me know I should do searches using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links as well.
thereuare Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 This 3* property has not yet been reported to the board, but for a previous user the amenities above were shown along with a <poor> Tripadvisor rating which lead me to guess that this was Hooters Hotel and Casino, and that would be my best guess for this one above as well. As well, note the low HOTWIRE user review rating (50% recommended)... unless your needs are very minimal i would look elsewhere, imo. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. landlocked76 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Thanks thereuare. I didn't notice the 50% rating! Good thing I checked here first. I have a reservation at the Planet Hollywood for my dates as a backup. I am paying on average 98.00/night, so its not too bad, but was hoping for a better rate since we're there for 5 nights. I was thinking of Priceline too, but checking on the list, the 4* hotels on the strip south includes the Luxor, which I don't really want, as its too far from our friends.Any suggestions??
thereuare Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Actually, if you click this link you can see The Luxor is now 3.5* rated by PRICELINE... so you should be able to win this hotel without landing this property (pending any upgrades back to the 4* level... but you can click this link just before bidding to confirm it is still 3.5* rated)Do you want to try bidding for a 4* hotel in the South Strip zone via PRICELINE? Where are your friends staying? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. landlocked76 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Thanks for the reply. I was wanting to try for a 4* on the strip south. Where do you think I should start? By the way my friends are staying at the Monte Carlo!
thereuare Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Given your $98 back-up at Planet Hollywood... what would be your maximum bid for a 4* hotel in the South Strip zone?Let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. landlocked76 Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Hi thereuare,Just wanted to close this topic. As there was a family emergency, I was unable to continue trying to bid on priceline. My reservation with Planet Hollywood had a 72hr cancellation policy, so I have just decided to stay with my current reservation for this trip. Thanks for all the advice and good luck to all the other bidders.
thereuare Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks for closing this thread... hope everything is ok with the emergency which arose. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
