fionah39 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Hi there!I've just discovered the joys of bidding for a hotel room today and am dying to have a go but am seriously in need of some help!!Ok so the first thing I can't work out is all these New York zones and the appropriate codes - where would I find this info please? I've had a general look at the PRICELINE map, but their list of neighbourhoods don't always seem to match up to the zones as referred to on the Better Bidding site, so forgive me if I refer to a more specific area than I would eventually be bidding on. My dates are 20th September - 26th September, and my ideal / preferred areas are Soho / Tribeca / Chelsea / Greenwich Village, those sorts of places. Am willing to consider midtown (that's the bit right under Central Park, is that right?) and the financial district if necessary but only if my budget is so rubbish that I can't get anywhere in Soho etc.My bid budget - don't laugh - is $1000 for 6 nights. Can you give me any help with a strategy, bearing in mind that I really do have not the first clue about this whole thing!Thank you very much in advance!!!
thereuare Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! It sounds as if you're using the zones from the "retail" section of the PRICELINE website, which are different then the zones used in the "bidding" section of their website, which is why the zones you're referring to don't match up with those most often mentioned on this site.Enter "new york city" into the search box on the top right corner of this board, enter your dates, and click the GO button... these are the zones used when bidding.Unfortunately your dates are very expensive in NYC i don't think you're going to find anything decent within your budget... what type of star rating are you seeking? What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
