mbanjo Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Followed this board closely and noticed some trends for New York. A lot of hotels are added to priceline last-minute if they need rooms to be booked. I had the Hilton Times Square booked with a corporate discount for $190, so I did not want to bid more than $160 due to the uncertainty so I tried PRICELINE with the re-bid strategy the last few days. Tried the same areas for the last few days starting at $125, and got the W New York on the first bid. Might not be the best strategy to wait until the last minute unless you have a backup plan, as I've been left paying $290 for a hotel on PRICELINE because everything seemed to be booked in the summer.Hopefully I've helped someone, and I'll always use your links to PRICELINE. Excellent Forum guys.
AaronJB Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Definitely an outstanding result for NYC before prices go significantly higher throughout most of the rest of the Fall/early Winter.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
Verbat Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Nice price.I got the W hotel on a priceline win for $135 between the 9th and the 11th of September, actually i'm here right now writing this email :)Great hotel with great service. We arrived with a baby and from what they said the room that you get for this price is a cosy one with a queen bed and we asked them to get a larger room if possible with a king size bed so the baby can sleep with us. Not only they gave us this upgrade, they gave several nice W present for the baby.We couldn't be more happy with the hotel and it's location as well of course.
