Priceline Hotel: 3* Memphis (East) Hilton

First bid was $45 dollars for a 3* Memphis East hotel. It was declined, but said if I upped my bid to $62 I could rebid right then which I didn't do. Decided to add another search criteria by including Downtown Memphis, which brought in 3 1/2 and 4 * hotels, which are always higher. You can generally get a 3* in East Memphis between $47-$60. So I rebid at $55 and got it. Regular price of this hotel is $109. It's clean and close to where we need to be.

(We stay in Memphis a about 6 times a year. When we want a 4 star hotel and to stay in downtown Memphis, we know that there are only three of them, all very nice and all downtown. So if we miss the bid on the first try, we just add another area of Memphis into the criteria and up our price. We usually get the Peabody or Madison for around $110 to $120.)

Glad to see this one worked out well for you and that you're happy with the results. In the future i'd recommend using your 'true' re-bid zones (of which you have two of when bidding 3* in this area) as opposed to adding a pseudo re-bid zone where you 'know' the bid isn't enough to be accepted... we've seen others do this and be very surprised at just how low a bid could be accepted in a zone they otherwise thought would be out of reach, and end up in a zone they didn't intend.
