Priceline Hotel: 4*/3.5* Downtown or French Quarter - Halloween Weekend

I am trying to book a 3.5-4 star hotel in the downtown or french quarter (or possibly convention center) area from 10/30-11/1. I've been trying for a few days, and my bids have ranged from $70-$135 and I still haven't gotten anything. I'm just wondering how high I should go before it's no longer a good deal. I'm just worried I've waited too long. I wanted to keep it under $100, but have realized that's not going to be possible. I absolutely do not want to spend anymore than $170 including tax. I guess I didn't realize how busy this weekend is in NOLA. Can anyone help?

I would imagine that New Orleans gets pretty busy during Holloween... even more so that it falls on a weekend this year.

What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?
