Farmhouse Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Hi guys,I came across this site last night and I decided to give Priceline a go based on some posts here. I was shooting for CPS area, but more specifically the Hudson hotel (A Morgans Original) (3*). I started low at $140 and worked my way up to $190 by re-bidding with the Conney Island zone (2* max I believe). And of course, it didn't get accepted =( Any recommendations on what price might get accepted or any other strategies? I know there is Holiday Inn on W 57th, but I'm not sure if this is part of CPS or not.My dates are slightly flexible.........Sept 28 - Oct 2 -or- Sept 29 - Oct 2.Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. As per this link, the Hudson Hotel is currently 3.5* star rated by PRICELINE... was it 3* or 3.5* that you bid? However, i'll add that there is on way to target this particular property and you need to be open to receiving any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you select. Did you bid for both sets of dates or just one? Is the CPS zone the only area you selected or are there other zone(s) which are acceptable? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Farmhouse Posted September 8, 2010 Author Report Posted September 8, 2010 Read my messages. Thanks.I searched 3* and 3.5*. I did my pricing based on two other posts on this forum (Hudon Post). Do the prices drops closer to the date? And I didn't mind any hotels in the CPS area. My friends are staying at the Hudson, so that would be the best, but anywhere nearby is OK too. I just can't stomach paying full price for it (~$400/night).I bid both dates and added Conney Island to rebid several times. I may try again tonight....$200 is the absolute max I can probably go. If that fails, I may expand the zones.thanks again.
thereuare Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 I would bid as follows:At the 3.5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3.5* CPS...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* CPS and re-bid zone2...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $180, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* CPS and re-bid zone3...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $190, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* CPS and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $200Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
