emmylou Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Hello all, I read all the information here and followed the bidding strategy information.I wasn't particularly fussed on location, as my stay is actually over 9 nights, from Oct 15-24 - I'm taking my Mum here for her 60th birthday, but have been there several times before myself, hence am comfortable getting around. Looking at the advice, I am trying to break my trip into three x three night stays to make priceline work for me.I thought this was still rather a lot to pay ($275) - I was hoping for less - maybe closer to $200-$220, but from what I can see, this seems to be a time of year that is high demand with not that many discounts as yet.In any case, the hotel looks lovely and is very favourably reviewed on Tripadvisor. Best rate for the same hotel through other sites was about $100 more per night.I'm hoping my bidding for the other portions of my stay will be a little less! I'm currently undecided as to whether I should wait another week or two and try those then.Emma
AaronJB Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)This is a very, very nice deal for a very busy and pricey time period in NYC (most of the Fall and early Winter is quite busy this year.)This Priceline Non-US thread provides information regarding non-US bidders using the US PRICELINE site.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
