Hotwire Hotel: Need help - last-minute hotels needed for Big Island (Kona & Hilo)

Hi there,

My wife & I decided to take a spur of the moment first-time vacation to the Big Island. We will be there for 10 nights (September 9th - 19th). Our plan is to spend the nights of 9/9-9/15 in Kona, 9/16 & 9/17 in Hilo, and finally the night of 9/18 in Kona again.

We'd like to spend around $80-$100 per night on the Kona hotels, and hopefully a bit less on the Hilo side. Based on current wins, any idea what $80-$100 per night on the Kona side will get us? We are open to splitting the stay into multiple hotels, so would we get a better rate.

For the above, you're probably looking at a 3* or 3.5*, HOWEVER, i'll also point out that HOTWIRE has a condo property for $89 which appears to be the very well reviewed Holua Resort at the Mauna Loa Village... would this be of any interest?

I reviewed the Priceline site in more detail. We definitely want to stay at either a Resort or 4* in Waikoloa - Kohala Coast. Any suggestions on a minimum bid? Marriott property is available for $185 (marriott.com elite members only rate) and Hilton is $219 at hilton.com.

You may not be successful at $100 or less but if you want to give it a try...

At the 4* and Resort levels you only have ONE re-bid zone (NOTE: Kona is not a re-bid zones at either 4* or Resort). If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...
