57spring Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I am trying to book last minute room in the city. What do you think is the best star rating I can get if I'm only willing to spend $185 a night?
AaronJB Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Good evening. :)What zones would you be interested in staying in?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
57spring Posted September 4, 2010 Author Report Posted September 4, 2010 I'm pretty open to anything at this point. Even considering Jersey City if I can get 3 1/2* there.
thereuare Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 My guess is that $185 won't be enough for a 'nice' hotel in the city (say 3* or higher)... but here is a Priceline win for last nite at just $139/nite which didn't seem likely either. So i would just figure out your preferences (ie- do you prefer a hotel in Manhattan or a lower priced hotel in Jersey City... try bidding for it, and if rejected try the other option, if that too is rejected lower your star rating, etc, etc) and go for it.If you outline your preferences we'll try to suggest a strategy for you to follow, but realize you're looking for an 'outlier' as most hotels will likley have set rates higher then $185/nite, imo. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
