Priceline Hotel: 4* Vancouver Hyatt Regency

On Thursday March 17th I bid $50 on a 4* in Vancouver for the night of 6/9/05. Per this site it seemed like the losest price possible. It was rejected.

I noticed that someone posted a winning bid of $67 in the May time frame.

Today, 3/21/05 I placed a bid of $67. I was again rejected but was told if I bid an additional $17 I could bid again without changing anything but the price or waiting waiting 3 days.

Is this where I can put in 2/3 the suggested raise in price and win? Or do I have to bid the $17 price increase and the 2/3 relates to waiting the 72 hours?

I didn't know if I should just go with the price increase since I have some time or if prices are on the rise so I should just get what I can as soon as possible.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You need to learn and understand re-bidding, which is explained in this thread: PRICELINE 72 HOUR RULE.

When bidding 4* in Vancouver, you have 3 such re-bid zones. You can use/add them to your Vancouver bid to get a better price than the $84 you are currently being offered.

Read the above link and see if you can figure out your three re-bid zones (if you can't identify them we'll walk you thru the process step-by-step)... once you have confirmed them with the board we'll outline a strategy for you to bid and win. :)

YEAH!!! I got it!

I think I read the 72 Hour thing before on your website. But I wasn't following it. I printed it out this time, as I do better when things are on paper for some reason. It made sense. I found three locations that did not have 4 stars. Delta, Langley, and Surrey. I tried Delta and $70 and it was accepted. I got the Hyatt Regency! From everything I have read that is a real winner!

Thank you for all your help. I will be using your website for all my priceline bidding from now on. I will be sure to spread the word about your great site also!

Thanks again,

Carrie
