Thanks for sharing your story and experience with the rest of the board (and thank you for typing it all out, i know it took a while to do so :) ).

While Hotwire was clearly at fault, and it took a bit of legwork on your part to get this resolved, i don't think you can make a blanket statement that "users should be prepared to be hassled when submitting a claim for the Double the Difference Guarantee."

Yours is the first complaint/problem that i have heard of... and i have heard of many succuessful claims. So while unfortunate, i do think that your experience is the exception rather than the rule. Of course yours is the latest report of a successful claim, so it is definately worth noting your experience and that of others, to see if HOTWIRE will be getting tougher with their Double the Difference Guarantee.
