skrobo21 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Started with $51, for a 3* but no dice. Tried again at $55 and bid was accepted. The Holiday Inn San Mateo wasn't listed on the forum as a hotel for San Mateo, but it's #1 in Trip Advisor for the area, and appears to be a brand new hotel. Used the link from BB to get to PRICELINE. Thanks!

Wellie Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I was there recently. The rooms are very pretty (marble counters, crown molding), but the hotel's service is terrible. For your sake, I hope it's a short stay. 20 of the 110 rooms are set up with kitchens, but you likely won't get one of those. Beware of leaving valuables in your car: I saw no evidence of break-ins, but I saw several groups of people hanging out and drinking in the parking lot. It's next door to the Comfort Inn, just off 101. It's easy to get to from 101 northbound (take the Dore Ave exit), but it's trickier from southbound, and it's tricky to get back onto the freeway.
