Newbie bidder. Looking for best possible hotel deal. Want to keep costs down to $60-$70/night range. Bid 3* $60 in Zone 1 and 2 (Fail), 2 1/2* bid $60 Zone 2 (Fail).

Duluth can be a toughie in that there's periods of high demand and not enough rooms - I'm seeing some availability in nearby cities, but a lot of hotels around the core/downtown of Duluth look to be sold out on Expedia.

What would be your desired max budget per night, and do you need to be right near downtown Duluth?

The dates for my stay are 9/10 - 9/13. Do not need to stay downtown directly. Would be happy to stay in surrounding area if it means getting a better deal. Max budget - hmmmm, I've seen winning bids for around $80 (3* I think) so around the $75-$80 range (3* or 2 1/2*). Am I being too miserly? Just want to get the best deal possible.

Rebid 3* to $85 in all zones (Fail). Rebid 2 1/2* to $85 all zones (Fail). Winning bid of $75 for 2* (Duluth-Days Inn). Something must be going on in town or it's VERY difficult to for Duluth in general.
