judyneric Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 If your hotel request fails, you must wait three days (72 hours) to try the same request again.BUT, when it cames to Car Rentals, you must wait 7 full days (3,450 hours by my math) before trying the same request. To repeat, after a failed rental car attempt, you must wait 7 days (it's actually 168 hours) before trying the same request again.I didn't see this mentioned on the first page of this topic, so thought I would add it (I didn't read the entire topic list, though, so it may be in there somewhere. If so, sorry :) )
LoneStar Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Yes, I was recently surprised by this too. I think it's a fairly new change (I don't bid on cars very often). To put a positive spin on it, the good thing is that there are still many car categories to bid on, so if you don't like the price of the midsize, go to the compact, etc.The second thing is that priceline's car rates aren't particularly good. So if you're first bid is rejected, you'd probably be overpaying on a rebid anyway! :)
thereuare Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I believe it has been 7 days for as long as i can remember... but a good reminder to everyone since car rental bidding doesn't get much of the spotlight. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
