spitfire411 Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Hi, I've been visiting this board for about a month now, and find it extremely useful in using Priceline. I have made several unsuccessful bids for an upcoming trip to New York from Oct 7-12. Of course, hotels are extremely expensive at this time (helped by the long weekend I'm assuming).I was hoping to find something for around $200/night. $250 maybe. Anything 3* and up would be adequate I think. We plan on experiencing the city and only using the hotel for sleep. We would prefer to stay in Manhattan, preferably in the Times Square district, but as long as we were close (10min or less) to a subway, I think we'd be fine. Just by browsing the net, we found "The Time" hotel for ~$266/night. I'm hoping to find something similar for a lower price.I would appreciate a strategy that I can follow when bidding on a hotel. Thanks for any help.Cheers.
spitfire411 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 Any way I could get some help? Thanks?
spitfire411 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 I'd prefer TS, CPS, MTW or MSG. DT, HK, Chelsea, MTE, ESB, UWS and UES would be fine as well. What is the verdict on LIC and Brooklyn? Safe? Easy to get to a subway?
spitfire411 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 Ended up getting Embassy Suites on Hotwire for $229. Pretty good deal for 4* at this time of year I think. I was up to $210 using various areas on Priceline. The Hotwire Hotel list allowed me to easily ID this hotel before purchace. Thaks for the great services provided here.
AaronJB Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. Fantastic deal for this NYC property - plus the bonus of larger rooms, free breakfast and evening reception. Can you confirm the amenity icons that were showing with this listing? Thank you. :)Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
