Priceline Hotel: Help for Downtown 9/21 - 9/25

I'm used to seeing rates in the $50-60 range for Downtown zone. I've rebid in $5 increments up to $80, but still can't seem to get anything. Is it too early to get those low rates? Not sure if waiting is better, or if I should just keep bidding until I get something.

Rates for the dates above look pretty high, there are a few conferences in town but i'm not able to see how large any of them are so not sure if that is what is effecting dates.

What is the best rate you're able to find thru traditional booking channels? How high are you willing to go before changing to a 3.5*? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

You can take a look at my post here --> Priceline Atlanta where I list my rebid strategy for a 4* downtown -- 15 bids total! and snagged the Hilton for $51 a night.
