smuniak
I need two rooms in a 4* - plus hotel on Waikiki arrive July 10, depart July 12. Four adults and three kids traveling. We are spending the first week on Maui and need a place to crash, albeit a nice place, on the strip. Want to make it nice because my folks are traveling with us, and they are taking the kids home with them and we re off to the JW Marriott for the rest of the week.My thoughts are targeting the Marriott, but am open to any really nice place on the strip.I can get the Marriott for $229 a night with a car, and I have a $100 off coupon I bought for $35 - net savings brings the night per room down to ~$200 per room/night with two sets of wheels!Rental car for this period from Budget is $120 for a full size.So the question is can I get a 4* - plus on Waikiki for less than $140 a night for our time period - or should I book the Marriott and collect my points as well... - 10k in points in worth a night in one of their lower properties... plus being silver I just might get an upgrade...Thanks,Steve Link to comment
LoneStar
If you read through the posts, you'll see that folks have gotten the Marriott for north of $100. Seems like about a wash in your particular situation. Link to comment
smuniak
Yes I have seen that - but maybe the quesiton is does the month matter?I did not see any posts for July and the Marriott...Plus I am not sure if I am guaranteed getting the Marriott if I do bid.Steve Link to comment
LoneStar
If you read through the posts, you'll see that you can use the packages feature to figure out which hotel you're going to get with remarkable accuracy. Of course, anything is theoretically possible. As far as rates go, we haven't really seen any seasonality to them. Basically, nobody is lowering Hawaiian hotel rates right now (business is good). So the past is a good guide to the future. Link to comment
