Hotwire Hotel: NYC 12/26-12/29

Hi everyone!

I'm considering a trip to NYC the day after Christmas. I don't want to stay for the hustle and bustle of NYE. I actually took this trip last year on the same dates and loved it... But I stayed in Jersey City, and am concerned about trying to stay in NYC. I'd like to keep the cost to $175 or less per night. There will be 2 adults and 1 child (8 years old).

I'd love to stay close to Times Square, but really as long as I'm close to the subway, I'll be happy. My goal is always to see a show or two, and I find that most theatres are pretty central to Times Square (or at least a short walk from there).

Any advice on where to start is much appreciated! Thanks!
