taylor2 Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 I haven't seen any recent wins for the dates I am looking at so... any ideas on what a 3.5 star hotel in the TS or MTW areas are going for between 9/18 - 9/21? I have bid up to $270 and struck out. Also, any ideas on what a 3.5 star in CPS or MWE might be going for? I was trying to avoid those areas because of the Hudson and UN Millenium, but if those areas are much cheaper, I might have to try going that route as I am about at my max bid amount. Thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I would have to imagine you're not far off from a 3.5* win in either MTW/MTE; I would think a win would likely be in the $275-300 range, and I would definitely start at the lower end of that range and work higher by $5's. taylor2 Posted August 27, 2010 Author Report Posted August 27, 2010 I am going to bid up to about $270 including CPS; I'm still going to hold off on MTE. If I get to $270 and still end up with nothing, I will explore other options (e.g., the Distrikt). I bid up to $230 today with no bites. I will keep you updated. Thanks for the assistance.
AaronJB Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 I'll also add that 9/18-20 is quite a bit cheaper and may not only have lower prices, but different options than 9/18-21 as a whole; switching hotels mid-stay isn't optimal, but just another option to consider. HOTWIRE has a 4* for $254 and a 3.5* for $225; you could likely get at least mildly under those rates by using PRICELINE, but then would have to figure out another option for 9/20-21. If you were able to get two nights at a 3.5* in MTE for around $200 or so (maybe a bit higher), that would give you some added room to work with for the last night.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
