Hotwire Hotel: Having an impossible time finding an affordable hotel in downtown Toro

Hotwire's giving me an option of a 3-star hotel in downtown Toronto West at a rate of $162 per night. Amenities listed are:

Smoke Free Rooms

Restaurant(s)

Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

Tennis Nearby

Could anyone help me figure out what this one is?

You meant Holiday Inn Toronto on Carlton Street?..Because this Holiday Inn is on the Downtown East. I am looking at the same hotel from hotwire too, but not sure what it is....coud it be Residence Inn?

Looking to book a room from Sept 9 - Sept 18. Last year, in this same period, I was able to get the Westin harbour Castle for $109 a night. This year, everything's $160 or more. I'd be happy to get a good 2-star hotel if I can find something in downtown Toronto (the closer to the Scotiabank Cinema, the better) for $125 or less. Has anyone got any leads? I'm kind of flipping out!

If you don't find anything on HOTWIRE within your budget maybe you want to roll the dice on PRICELINE?

Can someone help me ID a 2 1/2 star hotel downtown Toronto East I'm seeing for Sep 9 - 17 2010 at $144 a night in Downtown Toronto East? Amenities listed are, in order: Smoke free rooms, fitness center, pools, restaurants, internet, gold and tennis. Any ideas as to what this might be? Also, "we are still gathering reviews" indication, which makes me think it may not be one of the better known hotels, but.. maybe?

Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board and i don't have any additional insight based upon the information provided by HOTWIRE.

Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to "look behind the curtain". If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.
