bountyfudge Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Hi,My husband and I are flying into JFK on 5th September and will stopover in NYC for 2 nights until 7th September. We need somewhere to sleep, at the best price possible and would be willing to stay in any of the zones in the Manhattan area, and would even consider Jersey City due to its easy access to Manhattan. As we are trying to get the best price/best value, we are not so concerned about star level either. I have seen some wins on your board for similar dates for approx. $100 per night at the Affinia Manhattan...that seems like a good price to me. Do you think I would be able to get that hotel or something similar for that price (or possibly even less :) )? Could you recommend zones where I would most likely be successful for my price range? Do you think Jersey City could be any cheaper? I have never used Priceline Name Your Own Price before so would really appreciate any advice you could give me for this trip. Thanks very much!
yellowdog Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Please follow-up your previous Priceline Orlando thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above.Allways follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancell your trip, etc. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
bountyfudge Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Hi,Apologies for not letting the board know about the outcome for my Orlando trip. I have just followed up on the appropriate thread. Unfortunately, I didn't make that trip.I hope you will help me out on my upcoming trip to NYC. I could really do with some guidance on where and how much I should bid. Thanks a lot!
AaronJB Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 What would be your desired max budget per night for these dates? Unfortunately, I think $100 and under is not going to be realistic in Midtown in September, which is the start of a particularly busy time of year that lasts into mid-December. I will say that $100 has a slight chance for a 3* in the Downtown-Soho-Financial District zone, but I think it may take somewhat more than that for a successful bid. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
bountyfudge Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 Having seen another member win the Courtyard Jersey City for $80 for similar dates, we bid the same and got accepted! We are travelling very light so will be travelling to and from JFK on public transport...should work out well for us.Thanks.
bountyfudge Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 Apologies for posting this as a new post...have attached it to my previous thread.
