socogirl5000 Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 I've exhausted all rebidding zones and gone up to $123 (the median price for the areas -as per priceline) and still can't get an accepted bid. I'm going to SF Thursday 8/26-30. Am I having no luck because it's last minute?trying for 4* USE or USWtried rebidding using CC, FD, FW, Soma, South SF, SFO North, & Marina
AaronJB Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 HOTWIRE is showing 4*'s in USE/USW for $169/$194, but those are not discounted listings, they are regular rate listings offered via Hotels.com. What would be your desired max budget per night for these dates? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Additionally, one prospect in terms of regular rate is the 4* Prescott via Expedia, which would also offer a free wine reception at night. That's $161.98 via Expedia, and coupon code RELAX10 offers $10 off per night = $151.98. Additionally, there's a deal for a $50 debit gift card sent 4-6 weeks after your stay if you purchase via Expedia (please read the details of this promotion on the Expedia website.)Please use the site's Expedia link if you decide to go for this deal for this Kimpton boutique property.
socogirl5000 Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 Ideally I'd like to spend no more than $130 via PRICELINE - Unfortunatelly it's looking like I won't be able to go that route. I'll check out the hotwire rates.
cruisergal Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Hi socogirl2005, I've been bidding the entire morning for 4* USE and USW for 8/27 to 8/30 to no avail as well. Let me know if you have any success in your future attempts.
slruud Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Lastminutetravel.com has the Clift for $149/nite and available.
socogirl5000 Posted August 25, 2010 Author Report Posted August 25, 2010 Priceline failed me once again today. Went through all my re-bid zones for 4* & 3*. Ended up going to Hotwire - InterContinental for $149. More than I wanted to spend - but I hear the hotel is crazy good. Thanks for everyones help!
