Hotwire Hotel: 4* Downtown Atlanta Hotel

Hi:

We will be visiting Atlanta for a Braves game on August 28 for one night only. We live nearby in South Carolina so will be driving. We are not familiar with the Atlanta area and was hoping you could provide us with suggestions on the best area to stay in. I see in a previous post that Buckhead is a nice area, but will it be convenient as far as getting to the field and back. Our two teenagers will also be traveling with us.

The Buckhead area seems to be further out than I had thought...sorry not real familiar with Atlanta. We are coming in on I-20 and were looking for something convenient to Turner Field.

Turner field is located in the south part of HOTWIRE's Downtown zone... why not look at Downtown?

Haven't read many good reviews on the downtown area. Was thinking of going a little further out towards Lithonia or Conyers. We could drive down a little earlier, check-in and then head to the game. It's just going to be an overnighter, however, since we're only about 2 1/2 hours away I've considered driving back home as well.

Have you tried searching HOTWIRE for the Downtown area? Perhaps you could ID the hotel offered to determine if it's one of the better ones in the area (or at least see a 'good' Tripadvisor rating to give some assurance) and then have a 'good' hotel along with the convenience of a downtown location.

We ended up driving to and from the game since we are only about 2 1/2 hours away. Surprisingly, traffic was not bad at all.
