Goldengraham Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 So I want the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge which is going for $299 per night. The Sheraton is going for $188 per night. I am okay with getting the Sheraton. Question is what is a good price to bid? My stay is 8/26-8/31 (yeah sorry bout the short notice :) ) and I'm looking for a 3.5* which according to the list are these two. I'm will to spend $1000 after taxes, but really would prefer to part with $750 around $100-125 a night. To little, to much?

thereuare Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 ...according to the list are these two.Note the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List... while these may be the only two hotels reported to the board, there could be others... new hotels added or a hotel previously reported at a new star level.HOWEVER, rates are not high for your dates and you could stay at a nice hotel in Manhattan within your budget... why Brooklyn may be cheaper because it's outside of Manhattan, it also may not be since there is less competition. Do you need to stay in Brooklyn or are you looking or a cheaper alternative to Manattan? If the latter, do you wan to include Manhattan zones in your bidding as well? (if so which ones?) Also, if bidding Manhattan along with Brooklyn, is it worth a few extra dollars to stay within Manhattan vs. Brooklyn OR would your goal be the least expensive 3.5* (is this still the star rating you'd like) hotel whether it be in Brooklyn or Manhattan?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
