Gallus50 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 Stayed at the Hampton Inn down the block a few weeks ago. Sea Crest is fairly central, but on the south side of Myrtle Beach. It is very close to the Family Kingdom Amusement and Water Park. I liked the area north of the hotel better than south, which felt a little down market. It is not walkable to the new Boardwalk or Broadway on the Beach, but it's probably not too long a drive. Nearby is a new development called Market Common. I highly recommend Tommy Bahama's restaurant there, and a place called Roy and Sids, which is more casual. The whole place is a nice area to stroll, shop and go to the movies. What is there to do is Myrtle Beach? Where to start? Water parks, Ripley's attractions, loads of shows, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, Brookgreen Gardens, Alligator Adventure, Medieval Times, boogie boarding, parasailing, beach walks.... you won't be able to fit it all in. Have a nice trip.
