this is my first time trying PRICELINE and after several unsuccessful attempts, i decided that i would need some advice.

im looking for a hotel for 9/1-9/3

i looked at the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins for successful bids and i saw on 8/3o 4* midtown west and midtown east hotels were going for 150 and under.

at first i was trying for a 4 star hotel under 15o in midtown east, midtown west, times square. i started bidding at 115 and worked my way up to 14o for two days. then since that wasnt working, i moved it up to 15o the next day.

after many failed attempts, i decided to lower my hopes and try for a 3.5 star hotel for under 15o in midtown east, midtown west, or times square. i started around 13o and worked my way up to 15o. priceline has rejected my bids for up to 15o.

am i being unrealistic with my bidding? any advice appreciated! thanks!

Rates are date specific and the winning bids you're referencing are for different dates then your own. For your dates i think you'll either need to bid Downtown and you could be successful at rates you have already bid, or for midtown you'll need to bid a little bit higher (say $10-15 more).

sorry for such a late response back. i followed your advice and ended up winning with 17o/night mte with the hotel roosevelt.

its not a spectacular deal, but i can live with it.

thanks for your help!
