nyrac65 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Had to do a last minute trip to Long Beach and bid $48. Bid was accepted (that's the good news), but at the the Holiday Inn Dowtown. (that's the bad news).I did NOT select the Airport Zone, and felt comfortable that the HI would not be one of the possibilities. Had I had a reasonble idea that HI would be a choice, I would have gone higher and left out the 3* category. Yet, there I will be staying.Oh well, perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised, and the free parking and free internet may make up for it (that is supposedly provided).Anyway, be aware the Holiday Inn LB (Dwnt Area) is now included in the Long Beach Zone at 3*, not the Airport zone.Yes, I used the PRICELINE link from here to bid!Oh, stay dates 8/22-23.
thereuare Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 The zone bounaries of this area have not changed, and assuming the hotel you won is the Holiday Inn Downtown at 1133 Atlantic Avenue, it is still in PRICELINE's Long Beach Airport zone as defined by the boundaries on their map.If you look at your winning bid confirmation page, what does it say below the hotel name and above the hotel address??Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

But, it certainly doesn't compare to the other 2 (?) three * properties in the LB downtown zone.
thereuare Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Here's what appeared on my confirmation page:Holiday Inn Long Beach (Dwtn Area)1133 Atlantic AvenueLong Beach, CA 90813562-590-8858 Check-In: Sunday, August 22, 2010-03:00 PM Check-Out: Tuesday, August 24, 2010-12:00 PMThe official name of this hotel is: Holiday Inn Long Beach Dwtn Areaso i think you're confusing the "Dwtn Area" to be the zone, when that is part of the hotel name. From what you posted above, on your winning bid confirmation page:Holiday Inn Long Beach Dwtn Area<***what does it say here***><***below the hotel name but above the address***>1133 Atlantic AvenueLong Beach, CA 90813562-590-8858 Check-In: Sunday, August 22, 2010-03:00 PM Check-Out: Tuesday, August 24, 2010-12:00 PMHopefully the stay went better then you expected and you were able to make it work for your needs. nyrac65 Posted August 25, 2010 Author Report Posted August 25, 2010 It doesn't say anything below the hotel name and above that address on the confirmation - it's blank.Anyway, it worked for me for my needs for this trip, given the price. Clearly, tho, this property is carried as a 3* in the downtown zone in LB.Thanks for the follow-up!
nyrac65 Posted August 25, 2010 Author Report Posted August 25, 2010 I stand corrected. In digging deeper through the e-mail and documentation, it does indeed say LGB airport zone.Wanted to clarify and close out this thread. Thanks again for the great info on this site.
