Just won one night (Aug 26) at the Courtyard by Marriott (3*) - Northlake for $57. Took two days of bidding. Started with a bid of $41 and went up to $57 before accepted.

Linked to PRICELINE.com through betterbidding site.

This is the second time in the last month we will be staying in the Northlake area for visits to Emory Hospital. I see there are not many bids won in this area or the Decatur-Druid Hills area. Not sure why because it is convenient to the Emory College and Emory Hospital. I have also found that my winning bids were higher for this area than other areas of Atlanta that have been posted in the forum. Anyone have any reasons why this is the case?

Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board.

Rates in this area could be higher then in other nearby areas do to competition... if there are only a few hotels in the zone (or a few hotels at a give star level) there is less competition and less reason to discount so heavily... where as in zones with lots of hotels and multiple hotels at each star level, each needs to compete with their peers to win the business.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.

Enjoy your stay.
